And there it is. The first Senator to come out defending the attack on the US Capitol, where he "serves." Commenting on 6 Jan: if they were BLM/Antifa he may have been concerned with his safety, well you know, Black/Brown people ya never know. Regarding the actual sacking of the Capitol - well, these are really good law abiding people, ya know.
There it is in all its glory, courtesy of Sen. Johnson:
Ron Johnson says he might have been concerned for safety had Capitol rioters been BLM and Antifa
That man has no business anywhere being anywhere near the United States Senate. Jayzuz. The Republicans aren't even bothering to at least try to hide the white nationalist racism coursing its way throughout the party, and are instead saying the quiet part out loud now. At least they've moved past the "it wasn't Trump supporters" narrative. Baby steps.
Oh, and to put this into perspective...
The belt holder of what manhood looks like to a Republican is of course McConnell:
- On January 19, McConnell says Trump ‘provoked’ the Capitol attackers.
- On January 21, McConnell stalled and declared that he wants to wait until February to start Trump’s impeachment trial.
- On February 13, McConnell declared that Trump is "morally responsible," but still voted not-guilty.
- On February 16, McConnel excuses his acquittal by declaring that it was too late because he left Office!
