With under 100 days to go, one fact of the 2012 election campaign is crystal clear. The Obama campaign has no intention of repeating its strategy of 2008. Rather, it has adopted Karl Rove's strategy of 2004 by taking an incredibly aggressive stance to define Governor Mitt Romney in the public's mind even before the nominating conventions have taken place. While not without peril to some of President Obama's key advantages, the negative strategy has not diminished his lead in "likeability" to to levels that should worry his campaign yet, and Governor Romney keeps having bad weeks in the media.
