Friendly Mod Note

Hey folks! There's been a small epidemic of this lately, so let's review:
1. Try to be civil. If you must attack, attack the opinion and not the person. Flaming won't get you banned unless it gets out of hand, and this is entirely at the discretion of the moderators. So err on the side of caution. Don't dish it out if you can't take it.
2. Here's a definition of trolling. Please do not try that.
3. It's unfair to make posts that don't allow comments. These will be deleted and may result in a ban.
4. Please lj-cut long posts. If you're not sure if it's long, just cut it anyway. People hate having their friends-page overwhelmed.
5. Do not delete someone else's comments. If someone deletes your comment please inform a mod ASAP. This is a bannable offense but will be decided on a case-by-case basis, as all bannings are.
6. Posts that solely include an advertisement of either a LJ community, a personal LJ blog or a commercial product will be removed. Mentioning these as part of the narrative is fine though, as long as that's not the sole purpose of the post.
7. English is the preferred lingua franca. There are chances that if you say something in another language, you wouldn't be understood by the majority of readers.
8. We strongly encourage personal opinion and analysis, rather than posting a single link, copy-pasting some article or embedding a Youtube video. This is generally considered low-quality and would in most cases be removed. Don't be so lazy, we're interested in your personal position! :)
We have one of the most active political communities on LJ with some of the best contributors that I've seen over the years, and we'd all like to keep it that way. Thanks for your continued support!
