Hey guys, can you recommend a nice sci-fi TV series that would involve all the usual stuff like interplanetary travel, spacecraft, space battles, possibly aliens... but also with mystery elements like time travel, parallel universes, etc? Series that I've watched of this genre are Fringe, Continuum, 12 Monkeys, The Expanse, Dark Matter, and of course classics like Battlestar Galactica and the StarGate franchise. I'm curious about other similar suggestions. Would be very grateful if you have some ideas. Thanks!

DAILY QUOTE:
"The NATO charter clearly says that any attack on a NATO member shall be treated, by all members, as an attack against all. So that means that, if we attack Greenland, we'll be obligated to go to war against ... ourselves! Gee, that's scary. You really don't want to go to war with the United States. They're insane!"

The rest is movies and books. You hit all the best TV series with your list. Well, I guess there's Firefly if you like Whedon's saucy faux-drama style...

Actually if you haven't seen it, I'd also recommend the old 90s show Dark Angel, which takes superhero tropes and does different things with them.
There's the show Person of Interest on CBS, which I'm sure can be found and binge-watched online, great series about AI and the limits and real dangers of accurate foretelling of the future.

Date: 31/3/17 15:07 (UTC)Firefly is a great sci-fi series, but it's very grounded: no parallel universes, time travel, any of that... though there are somewhat "psychic" powers that show up once in a while...
Did you ever see Babylon 5? It's hard to get into... the effects are somewhat dated, but the real issue is the acting/sets. It screams "1990s made-for-cable TV." Despite that, it's actually a very, very good show with storylines that are unfortunately very topical these days. It's well worth the investment in time to watch through it if you can get past the sometimes cheesy acting. It really picks up starting in the second season.
Farscape was pretty good.
Andromeda was... well... it wasn't always terrible.
You could always watch Red Dwarf! :D
