Susan Sarandon is a great woman, but she's said some pretty out-of-touch things in the media lately. There are reasons why she's on this short list.
Steep's celebrity awards shaming is still pretty tame compared to the roasting everyone gave Michael Moore -- and his remarks were delivered straight and serious, instead of arch and vaguely condescending. He continued speaking even as he was booed in the room, until the network cut to commercial. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7Is43K6lrg ) The outcry was enormous, and it altered the course of his career. Add that to your list.
Also, why the hate for DiCaprio? I'll agree he's got very limited range as an actor - he's played basically one character for about the last 15 years - but if he's Al Gore 2.0 that's pretty freaking great.
