Let me make something very clear. The public school / private school distinction is practically absent in Finland, because the curriculum, education process, results, and quality of education in both, is the same. There is no difference.
I had to say this, because at least two people in the comments section seem to have focused on the "private school" part of this story, whereas that's not the point at all.
