This is a private school? Funded in part by public funds? US teacher's unions would go apoplectic.
I love this because it goes against the popular US practice of showering more money on a failing system and expect the money and the bureaucracy to substitute for culture, family and community. In NJ per pupil cost for pulblic school is almost $10,000 more than the Finns and routinely deliver much, much less. To get this kind of experience US parents are willing to spend $25K, $30K and much more for private schools that are unfunded (or untainted) by the state.
To get this kind of system US would have to outlaw the AFT, fire the entire US Department of Education, burn the building to the ground, salt the earth and drive anyone with a PhD in Education up to Canada. If only.
