Romans associated the eagle with Jupiter (aka Zeus, Thor) because the bird is supposedly immune to lightning. Jupiter is known as the Thunder because he is the gray bearded deity behind the storm cloud. The Masons who founded the American federation had a passion for all things Roman, so they chose the flag of Jupiter as a federal symbol for their newly crafted Rome away from Rome.

American "patriots" insist that the American eagle is different from the Roman eagle. After all, the American eagle represents freedom, whereas the Roman eagle stands for a nation of slaves. There is no slavery in America. Its citizens enjoy perfect freedom. If you don't agree, you must be excluded from political life in the nation of freedom. Your name must be inscribed on a list of people who threaten the very bedrock of America. You must be denied work because of your disbelief in America.

Do you have faith in the flag of Jupiter? In Jupiter we trust: all others pay cash.

The Senatus Populusque Romanus was not what you think it is. The eagle associated with the Romans was also not the bald eagle, which is a purely American form of life.

And the other thing.....what is this foolishness? Zombie Stalin is displeased.

"For my own part I wish the Bald Eagle had not been chosen the Representative of our Country. He is a Bird of bad moral Character. He does not get his Living honestly. You may have seen him perched on some dead Tree near the River, where, too lazy to fish for himself, he watches the Labour of the Fishing Hawk; and when that diligent Bird has at length taken a Fish, and is bearing it to his Nest for the Support of his Mate and young Ones, the Bald Eagle pursues him and takes it from him.

"With all this Injustice, he is never in good Case but like those among Men who live by Sharping & Robbing he is generally poor and often very lousy. Besides he is a rank Coward: The little King Bird not bigger than a Sparrow attacks him boldly and drives him out of the District. He is therefore by no means a proper Emblem for the brave and honest Cincinnati of America who have driven all the King birds from our Country . . .

"I am on this account not displeased that the Figure is not known as a Bald Eagle, but looks more like a Turkey. For the Truth the Turkey is in Comparison a much more respectable Bird, and withal a true original Native of America . . . He is besides, though a little vain & silly, a Bird of Courage, and would not hesitate to attack a Grenadier of the British Guards who should presume to invade his Farm Yard with a red Coat on." --Ben Franklin

The eagle of the USA represents individualists strength and pride. Romans had little freedom on paper. Be careful which symbols you tear down, whatever your opinions on economics, for the one who pays may be you and by your own hand.

You must be denied work because of your disbelief in America. If you cannot be objective do not be so subjective that you embrace whatever fallacy moves the flesh down below. A little advice from a fellow subjectivist, of sorts. To wit, if you have so little respect for others that you embrace half-rate propaganda, how will you ever win their minds and hearts?

I still remember one night a couple decades ago when I dialed up Jerry Falwell's 800 number and talked to some guy at considerable length.

This was back during the first Bush administration when they were making a big whoop-de-do over flag "desecration", and I asked the guy where Jerry stood on the issue, since making a law against the above amounted to consecration of the flag, thereby essentially amounting to idolatry of same.

The guy and I had a lengthy discussion about it (of course at the time all I cared about was the fact that Jerry's outfit was being charged for the call), and basically it boiled down to him telling me that because the flag means so goshdarn much to Jerry's followers he really couldn't take a position against desecrating it even if it idol worshipping it directly violates one of the commandments.

In short, it was perfectly okay for ol' Jerry to toss one of the Big 10 aside if it's politically expedient.

Nonsense. You have every right to enter the political mix. You also have every right to the reactions of your fellow citizens.

"Your name must be inscribed on a list of people who threaten the very bedrock of America."

If some citizen(s) wants to keep suck a list, then yes.

"You must be denied work because of your disbelief in America."
