So Van Jones, Green Jobs Czar, is gone!

So what does this mean? Was Glen Beck right? Did Obama bow down to pressure? Has he lost the faith of the progressive left? was Van Jones really a commie?

quick google news search is popping up with articles support Van and against Van...wtf kind of name is Van anyways was he born in one? anyways.

I should give my opinion as is customary for this blog except i don't know what my opinion is cause I really don't know enough, except for the fact that Glenn Beck went after this guy and he eventually resigned. I do feel like this was a loss for Obama i do think that some who believed he would be a safe haven for "the left" now feel like they were let down.

so am i wrong or right? who knows!

White House admitted that Van did not go through their vetting process. I guess they knew he wouldn't pass even by their own standards

Beck went after him because ColorOfChange.org, which Van Jones co-founded, started a petition against Beck causing him to lose almost 60 advertisers. It was completely personal and had nothing to do with Jones' politics.

Even if Beck's motives weren't totally pure, that doesn't change the fact that Van Jones was completely unfit to hold any public office of any kind, never mind a position in the White House.

i'm wondering if this is because the vetting process of these people is done by a bunch of newbs or if its intentional, i'm leaning on the newb side but theres plenty who would disagree.

Did you miss the part where Jones' organization caused Beck to lose 57 of his sponsors? If you think Beck would have invested the same amount of time in Jones had there been no petition, you're deluding yourself.

What annoys me the most that those several media outlets except Fox that actually aired the story concentrated on the whole "republicans are assholes" episode and not for example Van saying that white people poison colored communities, or his recording of a cd with a cop killer, or him being a truther... the list goes on

White people poison colored communities. You should see Richmond, Ca, where his green jobs initiative started and I happen to work. The town is 36% black and 26% latino, and has one of the highest asthma rates in the country due to the concentration of oil refineries in town. This resignation could be chalked up to a manifestation of the "permanent campaign." Also, anyone who doesn't doubt the official story on 9/11 is way too gullible to be in a reform-oriented administration.
