One of Russia's latest high-tech tanks appears to have broken down during a Victory Day parade rehearsal in Moscow.

The new battle tank, which is being revealed this week to coincide with Victory Day, stalled during parade preparations in Red Square.

Russian officials claimed the breakdown was all part of the plan, and was meant as part of an evacuation drill.

Yeah, but if it was a mere evacuation drill, then why did they have to pull the tank off the square after the "drill" was over?

They should have called Putin to come and pull it away.

We have a nice saying around here, "Nice stuff, but still Russian". :-)

Although, on the other hand, you can start a stubborn Russian car by just slamming with a fist on its panel. You can't do that with a Japanese or German car now, can you?

The new Armata based APC also broke down. Something wrong with transmission - it couldn't go forward so they had to load it up on the truck in reverse from a second attempt.
