Then those who do not plan ahead responsibly deserve their fate.

The "unnecessary roadblocks" advocated by some are merely corrections to the violence unleashed by an unleashed market.

Wow.

Correa's suggestion of alternative energy, though, would respect both the Ecuadorean people and the country in which they live. A small investment that would pay off handsomely.

No, it actually insults those people by saying "I know what's better than you do, so shut up, you can't profit off what is rightfully yours." It further insults them by saying "I know the future and this will be the alternative," gambling the money of the people on unsure things with terrible track records. Pay off handsomely? Yeah, for those in those industries, certainly not for the Ecuadorian people.
