Ah yes, those policy issues such as 'shares my values' and 'is a strong leader'. That has to be the dumbest exit poll I've ever seen. I thought we were talking about things like the economy and healthcare, not 'which candidate gave you more feel-good fuzzies?'
Not really significant. Mostly can be explained with the Obama coattails than anything else. Unless people actually think New Hampshire's a blue state, I guess....
Well if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...
Okay, but Obama also ran on a tax cut.
Okay, just pretend I listed the differences between Romney and Obama and now I'm saying 'the things that Romney wants to do that Obama doesn't are the things that were rejected by the populace'. Or you can tell me what Romney's actual positions were other than cutting everything under the sun (except military, they're getting 2 trillion they didn't ask for).
And yet they continually don't when given the opportunity to vote for them. Why is that?
Hmm? We have more gay marriage and even some weed legislation. Seems pretty progressive to me. Citizens only vote on state issues, not Congressional ones.
Anyhow, your point about the Republicans needing to run a 'true' conservative to win has no basis since you don't believe they've actually run one in the past 50 years. Your unique brand of conservatism is unviable on a national level and your worldview will continue to fade into irrelevance. The Republican party needs to appeal to new demographics, not listen to you.
