Not exactly. The Parliamentary system just gives fringe parties the ability to be the ultimate deciding factor if the other parties aren't popular enough. In a US context that would mean either the Greens or the Libertarians become the decisive voice if the Dems and GOP deadlock. Would you really trust either with that kind of power just because they're an alternative?
