He was certainly not the nicest guy to get along with, but let's be crude here: sabotaging the Veep your brother chose is the kind of selfish, jerkassish, dick move one expects from a family that thought Hitler was going to win WWII and which patented fearmongering about a missile gap that never was as an acceptable brand of US politics (unless the political family in question is Germans from Connecticut, in which case it's utterly morally abominable).
The review itself noted that Caro was explicitly pro-RFK, so it's a citation that even years later the Kennedy Partisans still delude themselves into thinking JFK and RFK were ever progressives when they were warmongering Cold Warriors in the grand style, albeit no more effective at it than Nixon and his Keystone Kops.
