Police video shows Zimmerman claims of injuries may be false

I was just about the be done with the topic, but the hits just keep on coming...

Police video from when Zimmerman was brought in for questioning seem to contradict his claims of injuries and even the physical description of the stains on his clothing after a "life and death struggle".

Again, nothing is conclusive but if this video accurately shows Zimmerman's injuries and physical state -- then his claims of fearing for his life and the injuries he allegedly sustained may be called into question

and again, question the basis for his "Stand your ground" defense.

My thought is this new evidence plays well into what we've been saying:
a 17-year old kid being chased around a neighborhood is not likely to turn around
and run up on someone who is trying to leave the area and attack them.

The funeral home director (who, of course, is absolutely not a coroner or medical official of any kind) doesn't see any evidence of a fight, just the gunshot.

Frankly put the whole set of "defenses" of Zimmerman by noting Martin was a troubled young man still neglect Zimmerman's transparently attacking a kid with skittles and an iced tea and shooting him. Whatever else Martin was at other times, in this specific occasion a 17 year old with a bag of skittles and an iced tea was shot by a paranoid gun maniac with a German name.

Exactly. The character and personality of Martin is not relevant because he was unarmed at the time. Homicide is homicide and murder is murder regardless of weather the victim is an angel or not. In civilized society you can't go around shooting people just because you don't like them.

As I mentioned before, people are going to have a tough time convincing me that a 17 year old deserved to die.

I can't make any kind of judgment based on that photo. He obviously isn't in a wheelchair or in need of heavy bandaging or casts, but that really doesn't mean much given that none of the injuries he is claiming would require them. At that distance and that resolution you can't really tell anything. The police report even records that he was treated and "cleaned up" by paramedics.

The more I read, the less sure I am of anything concerning this case except my conviction that this whole episode is rapidly turning into an OJ Simpson style Rorschach Test. Which seems like a real shame, if what you care about is the truth.

Where are the blood stains then?

Where are the grass stains?

And you'd expect at least BRUISING if someone is slamming your head into the ground

I dunno, man. The picture I saw is pretty clear. Zimmerman said Martin was slamming his face into the concrete. I took a header into the asphalt at less than 10mph the other day, and I broke my nose, it's clearly visible, my torn up mouth, etc.

I agree with your first statements. Similarly, however, I don't think a police report in this instance can be trusted any more than the clarity of that video. Not to be skeptical - I'm just saying that it would be something subconscious, where as a neighborhood watchman Zimmerman was more kin to them than Martin could hope to be.

And definitely yes on the final paragraph. There are no trustworthy witnesses or eyewitness accounts that are any more clear than the video, however, so I seriously doubt the truth will ever be known.

Having worked at a police department as a jailer - I can say with some authority - that "cleaning up" to that degree does not take place. Physical injuries are EVIDENCE, especially in a case where someone has been shot and killed - and must be recorded as such. In any case, the paramedics would have records showing any injuries.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Zimmerman was treated at the scene, correct? This video is from many hours after the incident, so it would make sense that he would be cleaned up. And besides, if someone's punching you in the face and slamming you against the pavement, you may very well fear for your life and act, even if the end result of the injuries are mild.

This really doesn't tell us anything new or noteworthy, but who keeps leaking this stuff out?

Several hours later you'd expect to see bruising.

You'd expect to see bandages from any cuts or abrasions, if he had been "cleaned up"

You'd expect stains on the clothing somewhere -- those clothes look to be in pretty good shape overall


So unless we believe the cops took him to the laundry-mat before processsing, and that Zimmerman has the skin of a football and doesnt bruise, bleed, or even turn red/gash....

then the injuries reported dont seem to line up with the video evidence.
