The problem is that those making minimum wage, statistically, are not the primary breadwinners in their household and are not the ones trying to survive off it. If you want to raise the minimum wage for this small subset of people who are using it as their primary source of income, the end result will be that those who use it for supplemental income, or kids in high school and college get the shaft.
