I don't know about cold weather, that may have been localised or doing a 10 year comparison (the last 10 years have something like 9 of the top 10 hottest years), but it has been raining like a mofo here since the drought broke. The drought/flood cycle seems to be the way things happen here, but it does also seem to be getting more extreme.
