One look at how they handled their finances in the past should tell you everything you need to know. Anything that has this much viral marketing has to be suspect, especially when it doesn't come from a type of 'last straw' scenario.
A true advocacy group would not be telling everyone to give them money to solve the problem, they would be directing it to the real players like Red Cross etc.
