DAILY QUOTE:
"The NATO charter clearly says that any attack on a NATO member shall be treated, by all members, as an attack against all. So that means that, if we attack Greenland, we'll be obligated to go to war against ... ourselves! Gee, that's scary. You really don't want to go to war with the United States. They're insane!"

Date: 30/1/12 17:57 (UTC)I didn't read more deeply on what he said, and whether he said anything about China, but this could be the year that the center of the Global Economic World shifts to China, or at least that everyone figures it out. This would quite likely cause the effects that are mentioned in your post.
In particular, I'm still placing wagers that a whole lot of American investors have gone the wrong way on Chinese Solar, and LDK Solar, in particular. If the shift happens from conventional energy to alt-energy, then this is another change that could decimate US markets.
So, two shifts that I see happening soon are Alt Energy from Conventional (which involves flow of wealth to Chinese Interests), and a overall shift of economic power from the US to China.

Seriously, I know people who've done contract work there, and the place is basically guarded like Fort Knox, the company is so utterly paranoid about "espionage" and 'sabotage.")
