1) I have to admit that I spent some time thinking about the post we had a few days ago about prejudice being used for a good end.

A real-world example that we might all want to think about is provided in the movie Outrage! where republican lawmakers who make anti-gay laws are outted by the gay community to the rest of the world--this uses prejudice to get those republicans out of office, because the republicans gay-hating voters will now gay-hate the republican.

I'm not saying this is good or bad. Just a real-world example.
I retract some of my harsher language on that front.

2) Who the HELL would run as Ron Paul's VP if he actually gets the nomination?
Can you imagine which whackjob would WANT to run with Ron Paul? Who's crazy enough? Any guesses? What's the funniest ticket you could realistically imagine?

1) Well, they could also be outed for being huge hypocrites, the gay-hating isn't the only reason. I contend that you can remove their influence from their supporters even without the gay-hating.

2) Mike Gravel. He supported Fair Tax with Ron Paul. So yes, he's crazy enough.

Paul would say 'it's up to the states' and Gravel would be fine with that as a stepping stone.

Re 1) The only people who would care that they are hypocrites would be the ones who supported gay rights. The ones that don't probably don't care at all as long as the politicians invoked keep voting against the rights of gay people.

This is why we can't have nice things.

Yeah, but the good would only be temporary - the gay-hating voters would just want to vote in another gay-hating Republican (just not a gay gay-hating Republican).

I think Bachmann would want to be his VP. I think Palin or Trump would be funniest. Palin would say, "Pick me! I have a lot of prior experience (running for Vice President)."

And thus, the Paul dynasty begins! The Paulites... Paulians. Paulides. Paulingians?

Standard practice would have Romney be the VP candidate.

He'd rather gouge his eyes out. Or at least one of them. The other he'd save for later.

I couldn't tell you one thing about his political views, but Shaq popped into my mind first.

It might help him with that race issue he has been struggling with.

I assume you are referencing Paul moving to the Libertarian Party because the GOP will have him killed before they allow him to be installed as their candidate for POTUS.

I have always felt a Paul/Johnson ticket would be very tough for the Democrats (who still mostly strict Prohibitionists) to beat.

Lankers, I can just see that bumper sticker: "Paul/Cain: do it for the LULZ"

The most awesome running partner for Ron Paul would be Randall Terry.
