Bachmann Gets Mentally Slapped By 8-Yr Old

I know we just had a Bachmann post, but this was to delicious to let slide...

What would possibly cause this look of shock on her face?



A. God just spoke and told her to STFU
B. Someone stole her corn dog
C. She's about to get glitter-bombed
D. Some lil kid just laid a verbal smackdown on her!

A young man named Elijah showed up at one of Bachmann's book signings, walked straight up to her, and said...



You can watch the video here. It sounded like his mom was coaching him just a little bit, but the fact that Elijah still had the courage to go right up to Bachmann and say that...he deserves a medal or something!

I wish that conservatives like Bachmann could buy a clue and just deal with the reality that gay people exist and are going to continue to do so. Legislating from the Old Testament hasn't been appropriate since we hit the Iron Age.

Could we maybe narrow that statement down to "people" instead of just "conservatives". It shouldn't have any political ties to it. People should just treat others like human beings no matter their skin color, gender, or sexual orientation. Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world...yet.

I don't, as Bachmann has no problems using her own family for political theater. As ye sow, so ye reap, and Bachmann ensured that this kind of thing will happen. Is it right? No. Is Bachmann, a gerrymandered politician who appeals to the basest instincts of a base movement anything to care about this being done to? No.

I had a kid come door-to-door with a flier for his dad running for some kind of local office. The kid was old enough to be walking unsupervised, so I wasn't worried.

But the kid was obviously very shy, couldn't make eye contact, and said his opening spiel in a rush, so I thanked the kid and shut the door determined never to vote for the dad. Jeez.

It's a video of a child and mother whose interests (civil, human rights) are directly threatened by public servants who campaign on the platform that they're abnormal, not a video of a staged celebrity kiss.

Yes, now when politicians stop having photo ops with *their* children that will actually mean something. And when politicians stop claims that gays are pieces of Satan and that homosexuals need to be brainwashed because God says so. The only politics Bachmann and Santorum have is to appeal to the "Christian" element by screaming anti-gay statements at the top of their lungs. So this is rather dickish, but it's dickery repaying dickery.

It's Bachmann, who gives a fuck? I'd love to see what happened to Santorum if that was done to *him.* Frankly the only thing Bachmann's politics amount to are "I tell you the liberals and gays made 9/11 happen, Jesus wants them gone, vote for me." Admittedly that's a paraphrase of Falwell but she's the same kind of "Christian" leader.

Nor does Christianity need to be used to back hatred of any sort, particularly from people who accuse all gays of being pieces of Satan. Bachmann's a woman who panicked from a friendly greeting by a lesbian in a bathroom, so frankly yes, it is dickish, but as far as I'm concerned dickery gets as dickery deserves. If Bachmann wants to make her career on being anti-gay, then she pays the price for it. And the price is things like this that ensure that Bachmann = anti-gay is all she's known for, she and Santorum both, both also prime examples of nu-Christianity that has as its primary theological principle "Thou shalt condemn the Homosexual for Christ approves of this message, now donate to the Republican Party so we can reverse liberal reversion of Sodomy Laws!".

Under L also sez that the action's dickish, however given Bachmann makes her own family a political football, this is turnabout being fair play. I have no sympathy for politicians who turn their own families into political footballs seeing that same action turned back on them, if they had an ounce of integrity they would eschew this with their own families, first. Claiming this should not be done to them, but they get away with it themselves is another instance of not the issue but the perpetrator, an argument that appears here with depressing regularity.
