The Omniverse Tales are a series of stories I'm working on. The stories proper take place in a multiverse, but the multiverse includes already-created (i.e. published fiction) stories and characters, hence how the Bizjarran Empire of my story curbstomps these guys: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Domination.

My stories also include more "regular" alternate histories involving rarely seen PODs (like the North wins the US Civil War a different way/Allies win WWII in a different way).

I got it, I just didn't follow it :D
Have you read any of Eric Flint's stuff? A friend gave me 1632, and I've now read the first 2 sequels. I should go over and read your stuff (I have thought about it more than once) but I'm not big on reading off the computer. I enjoy having a real book in my hands, just too old fashioned I guess :D

And my involvement was to remind UL that a very popular series of books already exists, telling a story that coincides almost 90% with UL's.

Actually this isn't the storyline, this is the background. ;P.

Most stories have a similar framework anyway, so I wouldn't worry about that.

Well, my stories concern the aftermath of a rebellion against an alien empire, but the empire is dynastic, the rebel leaders want a different dynastic system that's more, not less authoritarian, and the faction that eventually beats them is led by a Freedman general who owes most to Ulysses S. Grant for inspiration. Both sides are slinging around huge numbers and heavy artillery and unlike Star Wars they actually understand basic tactics. And of course there's none of that Space Is An Ocean nonsense, the spacecraft of the alien empire are huge and heavily armored due to what happens if small particles hit ships traveling at FTL velocities, they are armed to the teeth with heavy guns because those are harder to break.

My stories also include Murphy's Law, actual challenges of governance, plenty of instances of slipshod methods by everybody, Blue And Orange morality warring against Hot Pink and Silver Morality v. White and Black Morality and all that good stuff. Which right there is an indication that it ain't like most alien stories which are cheap nationalist garbage.

In fact I've debated a story where the Empire decides to "uplift" certain countries with a tendency to invade for wealth claiming it's for the good of those other countries.

Which I have never read, or even heard of....but this is changing, I'm starting to read SF/Fantasy again. (I'm still trying to put together 2 or 3 Pratchett's in a row...I hate reading hodge-podge)

Wow, a second youth, eh?

Only this story. The actual ones are set after a ruinous and bloody civil war in the main series, in the others in more superhero-y universes where superheroes radically alter the world more than anything since the Neolithic Universe, and of course my two-three worlds where the US Civil War and WWII end with the same victor, but differently.

With of course the main villainness being Azar, an Eldritch Abomination who seems a sweet agent of the Light and in fact is one......only this not the Light you really want to meet. For LULZ the Devil in my series along with all the demons ooze light to the point that a Recurring Gag is to have Fundies mistake demons for angels. Yes, I fully avert the Jesus Taboo.
