To show how wonderfully tolerant this place is of nonsense:

In my utopia breast augmentation surgery will be outlawed (save for procedures done for illness reasons) on two grounds:

1) It's a waste of valuable resources*
2) They look bad

Discuss.

*In my dream utopia, healthcare is not only "free" (well, Universal) it's also mandatory

Can't have the sick bring down the healthy

I think you watch too much House.

90% of the time the Dr hasn't got the slightest friggin clue what is wrong with you without seriously invasive tests which honestly aren't worth conducting because the cure for 80% of the likely causes of your symptoms is the same, either wait 2 weeks and it will get better or here take these antibiotics and it will get better.

Further how do you deal with a situation like the one I am in right now.

I just found out that somehow (no clue how since I don't remember a singular moment when it happened) I have a torn meniscus, torn MCL and partially torn ACL in one knee. I have opted to do nothing about it since the pain has mostly subsided save when I do something stupid like stub my toe and there is a strong possibility that the MCL will heal itself and the Meniscus could be asymptomatic for the rest of my life.

Still, no matter how you cut it I am hobbled until it heals which could be 3 months or it could be never. Am I forced to go under the knife to repair the damage? If so when? As soon as the diagnosis is made? If not how many months am I allowed to wait before I have to get it repaired?
