Southern trees are bearing strange fruit again:

This, my friends, is what calling the census an attempt to brainwash children and implying the all-powerful US government is a direct threat to your precious bodily fluids reaps.

I hope Bachmann is happy now, as she's getting her wish. This poor man is a victim of the fearmongering the Radicals have sown. There's a certain quote by a certain man that's worth quoting here: "If you say for years that the Jews are not even human and that Russians are subhuman, such an explosion is inevitable." It is in that sense that Bachmann's fearmongering is directly responsible for this man's death. Shame on the Radical Right.

It's sad that people like the OP are trying to use this senseless act to push their own agenda, especially when all the details have not come out.

[identity profile] geezer-also.livejournal.com 2009-09-24 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Jumping to conclusions before the facts is media driven, the left just does it better. Being left means never having to say you are sorry, and it seems they are embarrassed by nothing.

[identity profile] ddstory.livejournal.com 2009-09-24 07:25 am (UTC)(link)
The strangest thing is that the OP claims that he is not left. Which leads to two possible conclusions that we could quickly jump to. ;)
He is either not sincere about his political preferences or he has a very different understanding of the terms left and right.

[identity profile] geezer-also.livejournal.com 2009-09-25 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
From most of his comments I have come to the conclusion he is...but it may be he is just left of me (which is not difficult :D)

[identity profile] usekh.livejournal.com 2009-09-24 08:14 am (UTC)(link)
Because the right never does any of that. Afterall "have you no shame sir" was not said to someone from the left.

[identity profile] geezer-also.livejournal.com 2009-09-25 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm, don't remember saying that.......

I believe it was, directed at McCarthy.....unless you are quoting a different use than the one most frequently quoted....I mean I heard someone say it today about
Glenn Beck.

[identity profile] usekh.livejournal.com 2009-09-25 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Let's not play weasel words here. You did say
Being left means never having to say you are sorry, and it seems they are embarrassed by nothing.

[identity profile] geezer-also.livejournal.com 2009-09-25 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
Yes I did........
I did not say the right doesn't, so what is your point??

[identity profile] geezer-also.livejournal.com 2009-09-25 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, I misread your original comment, so I was a bit confused, but so someone on the left said to McCarthy, "have you no shame".......and?

It is interesting to read the whole exchange that that comment was a part of, but that would take a bit of research, and would not fit the context the left likes to use.

[identity profile] usekh.livejournal.com 2009-09-25 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
That you are arguing with weasel words. You know what the implication clearly was. Start arguing honestly.

[identity profile] geezer-also.livejournal.com 2009-09-25 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
There was never an argument here.
I made a statement, you attacked my statement, I explained my statement.
If you disagree, fine.
I gave examples in this thread to other people.

Well I hope I know what the implication of MY statement was. And, what you INFERRED was probably correct.......

I will concede the first part of my first sentence was my point and the rest pretty much snark (tho I believe it to be true) So you win the non-argument. :D

[identity profile] fizzyland.livejournal.com 2009-09-24 08:52 am (UTC)(link)
You know if you're going to trot out the Tired Triuisms I can counter, so really, just stop.

Ask the people of Iraq about the right never being sorry or embarrassed by anything.

[identity profile] geezer-also.livejournal.com 2009-09-25 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
Talk about tired....

Any way my comment was specifically directed....examples: The Duke Lacrosse team, Tawany brawley, What's his name at the Atlanta Olympics.

But Ok I will stop, just been looking for a spot to use that Truism, and the jumping to conclusions before the facts are in seemed like a good spot.

[identity profile] 404.livejournal.com 2009-09-24 01:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Both sides are guilty of it.

[identity profile] geezer-also.livejournal.com 2009-09-25 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Agreed

Forgot my tic.....sheesh.

[identity profile] mylaptopisevil.livejournal.com 2009-09-24 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
the left just does it better.

...uh... you've been around for this whole ACORN thing, right?

We just decided to defund an entire company, before an official investigation, with the only proof of wrongdoing being a series of edited videotapes, lacking context, created by people with a clear agenda, who have already been caught lying when they said they were 1) independent 2) impartial and 3) never kicked out/reported to the police.

[identity profile] geezer-also.livejournal.com 2009-09-25 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
Ya know, I have not made a single comment on the ACORN thing, because the facts are not in.........

[identity profile] bebopmonkey.livejournal.com 2009-09-24 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
hmm, or you could call it an "educated guess" based on current trends, circumstantial evidence, etc...

but hey, maybe that's embarassing?

[identity profile] geezer-also.livejournal.com 2009-09-25 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
To me, the last 2 sentences are over the top, my opinion.

The most recent non embarassment is what the dems did in Mass.

[identity profile] bebopmonkey.livejournal.com 2009-09-25 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
do you also think it's embarassing that Edward Kennedy, before he died, tried to make sure that his state wouldn't be left without representation? and the republicans blocked his attempt?

[identity profile] geezer-also.livejournal.com 2009-09-25 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
What I am referring to, is when Rommney was Gov they changed the process to a vote, and then with a Dem Gov, back to appointment.

I'm not sure what he tried to do, so I'm not sure who should be embarrassed :D

[identity profile] devil-ad-vocate.livejournal.com 2009-09-24 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly. That's why I mentioned the illegal still possibility; or he could have been too close to somebody's marijuana patch. The 'fed' message could have been a warning to others.

Any number of possibilities...

[identity profile] 404.livejournal.com 2009-09-24 01:24 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a shame, because all it does is give credence to those people that feel there is some conspiracy against them. It's kinda weird to be against the census, it's one of those things that is in the constitution. I think it is something less conspiratorial, and just bad luck by the man, going somewhere he was not wanted.
