This, my friends, is what calling the census an attempt to brainwash children and implying the all-powerful US government is a direct threat to your precious bodily fluids reaps.
I hope Bachmann is happy now, as she's getting her wish. This poor man is a victim of the fearmongering the Radicals have sown. There's a certain quote by a certain man that's worth quoting here: "If you say for years that the Jews are not even human and that Russians are subhuman, such an explosion is inevitable." It is in that sense that Bachmann's fearmongering is directly responsible for this man's death. Shame on the Radical Right.

they are exactly that, as a matter of fact.

I worked for the last census when I was in high school and the nonsense I would here was pretty funny. Its like, we're just counting people and gathering some statistics, this is not a big deal.
I get normal disagreements over matters of policy, but I don't get the OMG the government is coming to get me and put me in a FEMA camp, take away my Bible, control the weather, blah blah blah.

But it happened, and there's symmetry. So while this is not anyone's fault but the person responsible for the death, i would argue that pointing out influence and responsibility is fair game.
Let me give you an example. A popular children's show has one of it's characters smoking marijuana on an episode. Parents are all up in arms about it. But the show's creators argue: We weren't telling the children to do it! That would be raving lunacy! We were just depicting the reality. and yet... there is some responsibility there. They are exposing kids to the idea of smoking weed. even if they are not explicitly condoning it. Now multiply that by seeing that message every night for several weeks from different sources.
some people go ahead and hit that joint.

What Bachmann and her ilk are doing is turning the Republican Party from a fiscal conservative party to a radical right-wing populist party. Well, you know what, we already have enough radicals, ones who want to nationalize entire sectors of industry, mandate what we buy, and greatly enlarge government control. (And not all are Democrats, mind you.) What she is doing is going to rip this entire fucking country apart.
Seriously--people like her need to leave the Republican Party sooner rather than later. Either that, or just create a new party, without those loonies, to act as an opposition party in Congress. We can't allow this country to be run by people who don't know their ass from the moon.
EDIT: Actually, now that I've gone through and read some other comments, I probably shouldn't have jumped to conclusions. It could have been anyone at this point. However, I maintain that Bachmann is a fucking idiot and that she and her ilk really need to stop talking soon.

Also, did you know it's the poorest majority-white county in the U.S.? It also has voted republican by over 60% for the last 16 years.
But, a) A police trooper in the area told him to be careful because the area had a strong anti-government sentiment, and he had 'fed' written across his chest.
It was the libertarians! Zomg!
