Where's Waldo?

Where's Waldo? And by that I mean, find the black people at Glen Beck's Rally.

It's a fun game and you can play it with all the photos I found on http://dc.about.com/od/protestsandrallies/ss/Glen-Beck-Rally-Pictures.htm

In case you need a clue, there is one gentleman in the upper left-center wearing a badge, presumably telling the white woman where to find the restroom.

Ah, let him have his fun. "I can see November from my house" (note the quotes that should have been around MMM...it's not original) The lefties are running scared, but the "cleverness" is better than hate filled epithets :D

The "let him have his fun" approach is what has been driving many people away from such discussions. Frankly, I don't want that to keep happening. Do you?

[identity profile] htpcl.livejournal.com 2010-08-29 02:51 pm (UTC)(link)
A little.

[identity profile] geezer-also.livejournal.com 2010-08-29 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably you are correct. Altho, for me, it's more of a "why bother" than an actual driving away. There is usually a good, thoughtful discussion on this forum going on. But you are correct that this is better suited to a forum with a single ideology :D

Exactly.

YEAH, RIGHT!

Perception is reality!

Again I agree that name-calling doesn't advance the conversation.

Speaking of hate filled epithets, did you hear Glenn Beck's speech (which he delivered from 2 steps further down from where MLK made his I Have A Dream speech, on the same day, presumably without even knowing it was the same day and place)?

[identity profile] geezer-also.livejournal.com 2010-08-29 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
No I haven't. I imagine i will get all the salient features Monday when I listen to talk radio.....both sides, since I listen to liberal talk as well as the far right whackos....oh wait, I don't, except for Ann Coulter when I know she's sitting in for someone.

I watched the entire rally on C-SPAN. There wasn't one bit of hate speech during ANYONE'S time to speak. I think you were watching the Sharpton rally with the color turned off on your TV. :)

[identity profile] mahnmut.livejournal.com 2010-08-29 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
What about the color?

[identity profile] gunslnger.livejournal.com 2010-08-29 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Why is that relevant? Is that day now reserved for all time and no one can make a speech on it?

[identity profile] new-wave-witch.livejournal.com 2010-08-29 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
You're not really this obtuse, are you?

[identity profile] luvdovz.livejournal.com 2010-08-29 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Hold that thought. Would you like to bet some money on the election results? ;)

Given that I am not a gambling man. Given also I'm a natural pessimist, well not quite true, I could be considered an optimist in that I believe that if something can go wrong, it will.

At any rate I did not mean to imply that I think the republicans will take over in congress. I would bet they pick up seats in both houses, but that's almost a given and a sucker's bet. One of the few times that the opposition DID NOT pick up seats was in '02. iirc
