Gravity. You can't explain THAT, either.

Ben Carson asks, ‘Gravity, where did it come from?’

"Though he had been asked about climate change, he continued, “As far as evolution is concerned, you know, I do believe in micro-evolution, or natural selection, but I believe that God gave the creatures he made the ability to adapt to their environment. Because he’s very smart and he didn’t want to start over every 50 years.”"

Ahem. Isn't this creationist nonsense getting rather tired already? Just comes to show yet again what a brain-killer religion can be - to the point that an actual brain surgeon can be reduced to the level of a moron.

"Carson, whose views on science are genuinely bizarre, especially for a retired physician, added, “Just the way the Earth rotates on its axis, how far away it is from the sun. These are all very complex things. Gravity, where did it come from?”"

Ya know, Google can do miracles. Just google "where does gravity come from" and follow the links. Idiot.

"At face value, Carson’s approach to climate denial might seem more offensive, if for no other reason because his approach to science is so nutty."

Really. A brain surgeon who cannot grasp basic biology, astronomy, or understand the very concept of climate change. And a person of such staggering incompetence is even being considered for public office? WTF? Seriously. What the actual fuck? How is this guy even functionally qualified to be a candidate for the presidency, never mind the office itself!?

It's the same damn old anti-intellectual argument that GWB used to get elected and then re-elected. People who lack any curiosity about the world that surrounds them, prove to be numerous and thus influential enough, and keep propping these guys up time and time again. In those circles, someone as hateful and ignorant as Rush Limbaugh passes for genuinely "intelligent" and a "moral barometer" of a whole segment of society, while the likes of Bill O'Reilly are being appreciated as some sort of "gurus" for playing a cynical devil's advocate with the audience and asking over and over, "So how did the Moon get there?" Buncha dickheads.

It's election time again, and we all know where this is going, don't we? The crazy is going to be amped up to the max. Bill the Puppet is going out there to do his worst. Limbaugh is going to vomit a few more tons of stinky turd on air, too. They're going to keep telling their awed audience lies, so their bosses can make some more dollars at the expense of people's gullibility. These guys don't care about the consequences of their words, because, contrary to the pious principles of the faith they keep yelling about on a daily basis, they actually don't believe (or don't care) about any sort of retribution of the vengeful God they pretend to be bowing to.

What they truly believe in, is the value of misinformation. And by value I do mean its translation into money and power. Bill Oh-Really, Rush Blowhard, Ben Cartoon, you name it. There's tons of this breed around. They'd spout whatever talking points are considered beneficial for their narrative at this given moment, as long as it'd let them score points. They don't care about the future. All they care about is their wallets in the NOW. And they won't shut up, because, ya know... freedom of speech! Everyone is entitled to their opinion! Teach the controversy! Any position is just as valid as the next one!

Look, there is an argument to be made about balancing economics and the environment. That's a debate that could be had, and should be had. But it's not debate that these guys are aiming for. These assholes aren't making an argument, they aren't prepared to defend one. They have no desire to talk with people - they're only willing to talk at people. And this has spread all over the political discourse now, and has engulfed the very media culture as well. PR is now more powerful, valued and desirable than actual fact. And the largely ignorant, uneducated, narrow-minded, intellectually lazy public is taking the bait, hook, line, and sinker. Every time, without an exception. Just because they can. And because it's more effort-sparing this way. They're saving efforts they can then spend over more important stuff like getting their bellies full for the day, getting their balls emptied in the evening, and getting yet another brain fold straightened with mindless daily circuses.

Sorry for the rant. But guys like Carson really tend to cause this little robot a short circuit.
