Second amendment rights. But only for Christians and McCain voters.

This is really dumb, and I'd like to see everyone in this comm agree that the owner of this store is violating the law and discriminating unjustly. That is my view, if there is another view out there, please, share it with me.

I'll tell you the reason. You were well known for your... um, 'specific' debating style back in PF. Unfortunately, that style doesn't thrive here. You complained you were being too heavily treaded upon because of that debating style, but what you never realizes was that the fault was in you alone. And that's why you ultimately decided to gradually move on and possibly find greener pastures, a decision which I respect. There are enough pastures for everyone, after all. I'm sure you've already found the perfect one for your debating style. It's just that you very well know our requirement in case you insist to graze on this one.

that's a nice piece of fiction you've written here.

The group is over-moderated. It diminishes actual debate. I left because it became boring in the name of "discourse", which apparently meant "only that which the Mods feel don't hurt anyones' feelings."

Now, it appears there may have been some changes, so we'll see.

Then why do you agree with the request to moderate the above comment?

I actually expected you to counter by saying you've lurked all this time and you know everything that has happened and you believe nothing has changed. At least you're being honest here.

It would've been fiction, had I not seen it with my own eyes, but in the name ot not hurting anyone's feelings, I'm going to stop there.

It's funny, because if I had spoken like this to someone else on the board, you'd be all over me like white on rice?

I agree with the request because I see some kinds of content moderated, and other kinds not, and it appears to depend on politics -- or more likely, who is and isn't friends with the mod.

No, I've been away, thanks for expecting me to lie tho. Sheesh.

I'm not friends with Bogey, hell no, that would be the last guy I'd befriend. Htpcl has no relations with him whatsoever. You certainly weren't here yesterday, when Bogey was called by both me and Htpcl to tone it down, to which he agreed. You're just saying stuff. Who is he friends with, again? This remains unclear to me.

Apologies for not trusting your judgment enough. I just couldn't. But maybe that could change. I'm prepared to have my opinions changed, so be my guest and change it. Over time, of course.

And no, I assure you you're more than welcome to say what you really think of me. You have my word.

'...or more likely, who is and isn't friends with the mod'

If you're insinuating that I'm friends with the mods, I'll have you know the entirety of my contact with mods is when I'm being warned to cool down and step back.

Only once did I send a mod an unsolicited personal message (one that wasn't a reply) and it was an apology for anything I may have said that was too over the top and that I appreciate their calm tempers.

I've personally avoided making small talk and getting chummy with the mods because (as I've said many times in the past) I don't wish to engender a warm relationship that may cloud their mind with bias towards me. It's also why I seldom engage in joking posts.

I find that to be wholly unsupported by the very interactions I see on this board, but whatever.

Point me to it then.

The friendliest chatter I have on board with mods tends to be with geezer. Still never talked with him outside of open threads.

I'm not bullshitting you. Every mod here can verify that I keep them at an arms distance.

I understand your reasons to do that, but I think you shouldn't have to. I think we deserve some trust in our ability to distinguish between personal relations and our job here (which we do entirely voluntarily by the way).

It's not just the mods but the appearance to the non-mods.

Over-moderated? The only time mods step in is when people are so blindingly retarded that the people replying to them have their brain melt for all to see.

Well, I left several weeks ago. Word is, things have changed. We'll see.

I think knowing that you'll be watching this process closely is actually a stimulating, therefore positive development for us, so - thank you. And I really do mean this.
