Not everyone has the means or privilege to be able to research everything they consume.
It has nothing to do with either of those things. If the risk is that high, you'll make the effort.
If you are making food, medicine or any other thing that is going to be consumed, it is your responsibility as a company to ensure it is safe.
Why is this a hard concept for you to grasp?
It's not. But, as a consumer, it is equally your responsibility to do the legwork. Both sides have roles.
