Over the last forty years, the federal government has taken in about eighteen percent of GDP in taxes and spent about twenty percent of GDP in outlays, so why not just keep doing that?

In other words: The Democrats just enacted comprehensive reform of the health care system, and still the federal government is on pace to redistribute better than one out of every three dollars our grandchildren earn.
