Seems a bishop in the Orthodox church has been charged with molesting kids. Given how this sort of scandal has hurt the Catholic Church in recent years do you think the Orthodox church will react in a more open fashion or could we be looking at the tip of the iceberg in a similar but whole new scandal?

That's not my point. My point is that the people who scream all Catholics are Pedos never do that about Baptists, even though proportionally there are far more Baptist pedos than Catholics.

I'm not sure that is true. If it is true, it's because of the reason I mentioned (been there, not done that) and not with pre-pubescent children.

You may very well be correct that the "ebil" Catholics get more attention because they are Catholics, but I tend to think it's because of the age of the victims.

Oh, it is. There's globally a few million Baptists but over 1 billion Catholics. Hence, proportionately there are more Baptist pedos than Catholics. OTOH at least the Southern Baptists started as a denomination dedicated to sanctioning the worst sides of US society, so.....yeah.

Not to be argumentative, however, I'm not sure what you base your assertion on. The cases that make news, there is an age difference. We just had a case reported Friday, which is typical for "Baptists". Older teacher, high school girl.
So, since we only know about what is reported I'm not sure what you mean exactly, unless you are looking at it from a legal stand point that underage is underage.

I'm curious how many private schools are operated by Baptist/Pentecostal types of churches versus Catholic schools. I don't know of any Orthodox operated schools here in New York, but I really don't know. Maybe it's a sheer numbers thing, with so many Catholic schools?
