Tea Partying in Palestine

Here is an article published a week ago in the Times about the Israelis catching Tea Party fever:

In Tel Aviv, famed as a city that never sleeps, the Tea Party inaugural event was over by 8:45 p.m., not two hours past its scheduled 7 p.m. start time, and most of the audience looked ready for bed.

The event was organized by Michael Kleiner, a former Likud legislator. He was joined on the podium by a trio of current Likud parliamentarians, Danny Danon, Tzipi Hotovely and Ayoob Kara, as well as by two hard-line party members, Moshe Feiglin and Gershon Mesika, the leader of a West Bank regional settler council.

“The people of Israel voted right and they want to see right,” Ms. Hotovely said from the stage. She proposed countering any possible unilateral Palestinian declaration of independence with an Israeli declaration of sovereignty over all of Judea and Samaria, using the biblical names for the West Bank — drawing applause.

Of course, the Israeli Tea Party is just as non-racist as the American version. They seem to have a great respect for Palestinians. I can just hear them saying that their best friends are Palestinians. I'm sure that they consider the best thing for Palestinians would be to live under the thumb of a nice Jewish man like Benjamin.

I am personally pleased that the Israelis are ready to dump the American tea in the harbor and declare their independence from US military subsidies.

Which shows Ms. Hotovely has been paying zero attention to the Palestinians. There was already a unilateral declaration of independence back in 1988 by the PLO. There's also that that declaration is moot since the Palestinians themselves are no longer uni-anything, since they've split into Hamas- and Fatah-controlled regions.

Israeli TP is basically the anti-Obama (since he's an anti-semite) pro-settler (i.e. steal more land from the Palestinians) movement. Ethnic cleansing is not racist at all - you must oppose liberty.

Iran and Saudi Arabia are both Islamist states, the latter both Islamist and the major US ally among the Muslim states of the region. Israel's hard power is also in decline, they could not defeat Hezbollah in 2006, after all, despite having the metaphorical sledgehammer against the gnat.

From the perspective of the Wahhabis in Saudi, Iranians Muslims are heretics. The Shi'a in Iran view the Saudis as puppets of the Great Satan. The nice thing about Islamisms is that there are so many from which to choose.
