Friday Free For All!

So. You are forced to hang-out with someone from LJ that isn't in your same political circle IRL. WHO DO YOU CHOOSE??

Steve-O, of course.

Just to see who if anybody's actually stuck the "KICK ME" sign to his back.

Brucenstein... he's passionate about politics without being a zealot.

Probably no one considering there are virtually none who see eye to eye with me. [livejournal.com profile] kardashev maybe, considering at least he is willing to consider the potential for a consensus to be in error. d:

I think [livejournal.com profile] geezer_also is a guy I'd gladly have a beer with.

Btw i'm kinda liking this new tradition of Sunday Crazy. Draws the family together, sortof. Moreover, anything the comm comes up with spontaneously must be a nice thing :)

(As long as we keep it somewhat politics related of course).

Back to the question. I'd need an hour to list all the nice guys'n'gals i'd hang out with, and being neither librul nor conserv i guess i'd have quite a crowd at the bar huh hu huh...
(cuz i'm bringing y'all to a bar! and the drinks on me yay)
So if it has to be just one person, lets say i'm sticking with [livejournal.com profile] airiefairie :P

I'm lost. Does a centrist count as leftist or rightist? ;-)
I say under-L. I'm curious to see if he's as crazy IRL as on LJ.
Your turn now. You didn't say anything about your preferences. Rules are rules ROFL!

I'm so elitist that none of you are in my circle, so I guess I'd pretty much hang with all of yas.

[identity profile] spaz-own-joo.livejournal.com 2010-07-31 09:11 am (UTC)(link)
Brucenstein has always struck me as someone with whom I could just have a good, basic time of dudes, perhaps a poker circle or an English pub booze-up.

Geezer, Bruce and Deb.

[identity profile] kko.livejournal.com 2010-07-31 10:44 am (UTC)(link)
not any you nerds

[identity profile] blueduck37.livejournal.com 2010-07-31 11:25 am (UTC)(link)
Brucenstein all the way. Seems like a genuinely nice guy, not insane.

Depends on a few things.
-Will there be witnesses?
-Can I bring some sort of weapon (either offensive or defensive)?
-Will there be alcohol? (This is important.)
-Do we have to talk about politics? (This is why I asked about weapons, alcohol, and witnesses.)
-How, exactly, will we IRL implement the humorous-captioned-picture reflex that is the saving grace of many of HANDLE-CENSORED's posts?

[identity profile] skull-bearer.livejournal.com 2010-07-31 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably Underlankers, as disagreements in the past have been pleasantly educational rather than head-bashingly irritating.

[identity profile] geezer-also.livejournal.com 2010-07-31 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm with *exile* big bar-b-que (that way no one would notice I'm only drinking water)

This is really going to be fun, too bad I have to work all day.

[identity profile] dwer.livejournal.com 2010-07-31 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Lee Atwater, after he realized he was a prick, and before he died.

Oh, from LJ?

Bruce. But that's kind of cheating, since I've already hung out with him, and CGallivan too.

Can I hang out with Ellie Kay if I can gag her?

[identity profile] majortom-thecat.livejournal.com 2010-07-31 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd be curious to hang out with [livejournal.com profile] inibo.

[identity profile] readherring.livejournal.com 2010-07-31 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
While I think it is very enlightening and broadening to hang out with people that don't agree with you, I don't know that I'm comfortable with identifying people as members of the other team. That just seems like unnecessary polarization. Although I'm essentially a liberal, I'm strongly in favor of fiscal conservatism and some things that have been stereotyped to be conservative policy, like the death penalty. I'm a mix of opinions, (as I'm sure that most of you are) so I don't particularly want to be lumped on one side and asked to pick my opposite.

Therefore, I pick [livejournal.com profile] htpcl. And a nice bottle of Scotch.

[identity profile] ddstory.livejournal.com 2010-07-31 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[livejournal.com profile] airiefairie.

Now. Let's do another survey. Who would you date?

[livejournal.com profile] airiefairie.

Just to be masochistic...

[identity profile] sophia-sadek.livejournal.com 2010-07-31 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd pick Unterlankers simply for the character building that comes with suffering. (I'll leave it to you to figure out which of us would suffer more.)

[identity profile] geezer-also.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
After thinking about this for most of the day (hey, what I do gives me plenty of time for thinking, unfortunately it's pretty much wasted time, but I digress). I came to the conclusion that of all the people I have had dialog with, it would be much easier to choose one or two that I WOULDN'T consider spending an evening chatting with (regardless of beverage of choice, as long as I don't have to drink beer or herbal tea) than only one or two whom I would.

[identity profile] gunslnger.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
All the interesting people I tend to agree with, at least to some extent. :) And meeting people would ruin my image.

[identity profile] debergerac.livejournal.com 2010-08-02 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
chemchick!

i don't even know -which- political circle you fall within, and it doesn't really matter, so all is well.

my distant second choice would be dwer. i have this great desire to squeeze his chubby cheeks and give him noogies....
