My capacity to give a damn about that would be greater if it wasn't for the annoying tendency people have to conflate the Vandals and the Visigoths with present day Norse, Germans, and Icelanders. So hence I really don't give a shit about calling the Turkic invaders of the past Turks any more than most people do about calling Alaric II, Arian Christian Visigoth, a German. *g*.
