You proposed it yourself I believe when you proposed rationing at 60% of current oil consumption levels (I believe that was the number, 5 gallons per day down to 3 gallons per day) and yet the article said a mere 5% reduction in oil supplies could end civilization as we know it.

Rationing at the level needed to actually make a difference on either the environmental or availability fronts would cause the economic collapse and warfare that the doomsayer videos warned about.
