SPILL BABY SPILL DAY 27, Scientists believe it has hit the Loop current. OMG

Today in the news the scientists believe that the oil has hit the LOOP current and it's heading for the Florida coast and ultimately up and around Florida and along the whole eastern seaboard of the US................ is the oil that precious to us now?????????????????????????????????????????

Oh I am sure it would. But it might be the best choice. Its not like we've never detonated a nuke underwater before so we have a pretty good idea how it works. At the depth we are talking the effect should not be to severe but it would do some damage. I would think it would be less damaging than the oil. It would not take a huge one to collapse the hole.

Not nearly enough power. I've heard what would be needed would be in the 20 kiloton range to collapse it fully. Thats a lot of conventional explosives. Not to mention that many don't work under water. You gotta deal with the pressure in addition to the water.

With a nuke you dig one hole send in one bomb and you're good.
