Parable about a man throwing shit in a well:

There was a man who was throwing shit down a well, and the people asked of him thus, "Why are you throwing shit down the well?"

And the man responded, "I am throwing shit down the well because John threw shit down the well."

And the people pressed him further, saying, "But that doesn't help!"

And the man cried out to the people, "But we can't sit by and let them do all the throwing of the shit down the well! We have to stand up for ourselves! We have to show them that we won't take it anymore!"

"But the well is full of shit now, dude," responded the people of the village. "And we do not like our well being full of shit!"

"And so you would do nothing?!" the man yelled.

"Well I suppose we could use the bucket to take the shit out of the well," said a young boy.

And the people were amazed and grew silent at his teaching.

Why didn't he just say so, I mean really. I've had to dig thru Cat and Opossum s**t and even pigeon dung to repair leaks on a roof, but that's my job. I certainly don't like to dig thru it to find some zen meaning.
