For the purposes of this post, my interest in income inequality isn't to cry about unfairness, but to question how/why it increased so quickly.

Like a sudden fever, the spikes in the graphs look like symptoms of economic ailment. It seems an unnatural progression. It certainly doesn't look conservative.
