Well again, depends on the context and the intentions of the person. Of the people who have told me that, they weren't exactly being nice about it, and were using it as reason to justify calling white people "ugly". On the other hand, I've had people ask me why white people were so overweight, but were genuinely just wondering about our obesity problem in the US... and so my response was to talk about it, and I wasn't offended. So my point is just that intentions do matter, and that was just an example that came to mind.
