Bernie was against the TPP and Clinton was against it, well, after being for it, but that's another issue. Regardless of who won, it seems the TPP was dead... unless of course someone was fibbing.

As far as the long term consequences, China is going to be having a huge impact in Asia going forward. But then Japan already has a huge impact and India will have a huge impact at some point. The American people were pretty clear that they wanted those jobs instead of keeping China from having it's way in Asia.
