This is when you know reform is needed:

The Economist praises the Swedish health care system over the American on issues of incentives.

Now, there's something wrong with this picture. See if you can tell me what it is.....

if you can afford it.

yes as i've said before the cost is the problem

Why do you hate capitalism? Those prices are dictated by the free market.

When medical care in USA was dictated by free market, most people were paying for it out of pocket.

Now legislature is dictating most of the cost of medical care.

How is legislature dictating most of the cost of health care?

[identity profile] redheadrat.livejournal.com 2009-08-13 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
by doing what it does best - overlegislating

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means

Okay, so legislature is overlegislating, which is very vague. Can you provide examples that are more specific or are you just repeating something you've been told?

Am I being paid to educate you on the US legislation?

No but it's generally considered a good idea to back up your claims with facts as opposed to telling people to "look it up". For instance, provide something that shows what % of expenses go into legal defense for malpractice lawsuits. Until then you're just making shit up.

I feel like this deserves to go in the comm rules, considering how frustrating it is and how frequently it must be restated.

Is that your free market expectations?

No, you're throwing out an argument based on two terms with zero elaboration or backing for the claims that this is why our hospital and medical expenses are so high.

Failing to consider anything else like the fact that hospitals have to constantly be bailed out by the government because they can't refuse emergency room care to anyone so we have all the uninsured and illegals getting all of their medical treatment via emergency rooms.

But no, you must have the answer and even though back a few years ago when the republicans controlled both houses and the white house, they didn't fix it, and now, neither will the democrats. You should run for office.

Repeating two terms you heard on Hannity does not an argument make.

I blame my government for legislating in a way that the costs to the taxpayers have exploded without little real benefit to taxpayers.

[identity profile] fizzyland.livejournal.com 2009-08-13 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Who legislated it? When was this done?
