No, I'm talking about fuel cells. They run efficiently in a very narrow set of operation conditions, and if you operate out of those conditions you can seriously degrade the efficiency or even damage the fuel cell. Essentially, you need a large amount of electricity storage in order to operate the vehicle. A vehicle with a fuel cell will operate essentially the same way as a plug in electric vehicle. It runs off the batteries, the fuel cell just charges those batteries.
