I'm saying that the government is not the marketplace.

Yes, I've heard that trope tossed off many times before. Repetition only makes something true psychologically, not in reality.

When anyone (including a government) spends or buys in the market, that's market activity. When a people through their representatives wish to accomplish something that only the majority of the people can afford, they get the government to act on their behalf.

Deal with it.
