What is the truth, then? According to the trial testimony nothing in the physical evidence or in the subsequent free (un-lawyered) interviews with Zimmerman casts doubt on his story in any meaningful way. In short, if he is lying he was lying from the moment he first spoke to the cops and then maintained that story's consistency right through till trial. And it isn't a simple two sentence story. It is detailed, complicated and includes a lot of easily checked facts. It was a story examined and questioned minutely by men and women whose only job is to trip you up into incriminating yourself and exposing a lie. Do you have any idea how hard that is to do? Extemporaneously? Under the pressure of just killing someone? He is either telling the truth or he is a genius level sociopath. And from what I can tell, he is no genius.
