So they're saying "This is what's happening" and the oil execs and the people in charge then say "LOL DONT CARE" and keep drilling? Come on.

No. Those numbers are based on what was actually recovered at the time.

Oh my god.

So you're basing the peak not on what's available, but on what's already been recovered. Thus, the hundreds of billions (perhaps trillions worldwide) do not factor into your idea of what the peak is?

Am I reading this properly? I can't be reading this properly.

Hubbert also predicted global peak production in 1995. Oops.
