It will make it to the case if Zimmerman's defense includes his character...basically saying he is too good a fellow to do anything as horrible as a racially motivated murder.

Publicizing Witness 9 is the prosecution telling the defense that if they try to make Zimmernman's character part of his defense, they will cream him in rebuttal.
