Where's Waldo?

Where's Waldo? And by that I mean, find the black people at Glen Beck's Rally.

It's a fun game and you can play it with all the photos I found on http://dc.about.com/od/protestsandrallies/ss/Glen-Beck-Rally-Pictures.htm

In case you need a clue, there is one gentleman in the upper left-center wearing a badge, presumably telling the white woman where to find the restroom.

That republican party has absolutely no relation to the Republican party of today, and certainly no relationship to the Tea Party that Beck fawns over.

Talk about moving the goalposts.

[identity profile] dwer.livejournal.com 2010-08-29 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
how, exactly, is that moving the goalposts?

"When have conservatives supported the Civil Rights movement? No, I don't mean those conservatives... nope, not those ones either... nope, keep looking..."

I guess the poster could have specified 'the conservative movement in its present form', but that would kind have been defeating the point.

[identity profile] dwer.livejournal.com 2010-08-29 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
no, it's simply unnecessary. You're talking about a political group from 150 years ago. It's simply not relevant. Furthermore there WAS no Civil Rights Movement in the 1860s. The Civil Rights Moments is generally known to have begun in the early 1960s. And during that time, majorities of b

I believe I mentioned the Civil Rights Act of '64.

which was utterly unsupported by the GOP and conservatives.

it's funny, because you're talking about politicians, and I'm not.

No, I'm talking about something quantifiable.

[identity profile] dwer.livejournal.com 2010-08-29 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
damn. "During that time, majorities of b"oth the GOP and the conservative movement rallied strongly against the Civil Rights movement.

Can you give specifics?

[identity profile] dwer.livejournal.com 2010-08-29 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
did you miss sixth grade social studies?

[identity profile] allisnow.livejournal.com 2010-08-29 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Sixth grade social studies is ancient and world cultures. But if you'd rather insult my education than have an actual discussion, knock yourself out, chief.

[identity profile] dwer.livejournal.com 2010-08-29 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
you're the one who wants specifics on conservatives being against the Civil Rights movement. I mean, jesus christ.

I gave specifics. Who would have thought it would be so shocking to expect equal courtesy.

Okay, I admit you got an LOL out of me that time.

"I don't actually need to show facts that back up my assertions! Everyone knows they're true!"

Nice.

[identity profile] dwer.livejournal.com 2010-08-29 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
it's funny, because I'm not talking about which senators voted for what or which representatives. I'm talking about the obvious and large dislike among the conservatives and republicans of this country in the 1960s for the Civil Rights movement, and you're bitching about me not having citations for it? Dood, look around. This whole post. You're fucking living it.

Well it's obvious.

*facepalm*

yes, that, indeed, has been my reaction to your statements for this entire thread.

I know, it must be much more pleasant when people just accept the obvious truth of your obvious statements without question. Obviously.

Once again, I am forced to question your education.

Luckily for you, you have no problem embracing the knowledge that those who disagree with you are morons.

[identity profile] dwer.livejournal.com 2010-08-29 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
It's funny, because I didn't question your intelligence. However, now I'm forced to question your education in both history and english.
